Goals for 2017

goals-for-2017

I hate the word resolution. I’m not really sure why. But I do. So, I’m telling myself that the goals I’m making for 2017 are, in fact, different from resolutions. I’m focusing on a few different things but, unlike my book goals, these don’t all need their own post.

Financial Goals

I turn 30 this August, and I am working towards getting my Gail Vaz-Oxlade on. According to my current plan, I will have my credit cards paid off by May. After that, it’ll just be my student loan which I will keep chipping away at.

Food & Fitness Goals

Now that Christmas holidays have come and gone, I’m planning to get back on track with Keto. I started before Christmas and was doing well (although, I was still waiting for the promised energy spike). According to a lot of what I’ve seen, when you are doing keto you shouldn’t really do too much exercising at first so it won’t be a focus. I’m aiming for 2 or 3 10 minute Blogilates workouts. My main fitness goal, though, is getting between 8000-10000 steps a day.

Faith Goals

My plan for 2017 is to re-embrace the Heroic Minute Challenge. I did the challenge back in 2015 and loved. I’d like to adopt it for all of 2017. I usually struggle with faith related goals and I think it’s because I try to make it too complicated. So this year I’m keeping it simple:

  1. Wake up at 5am (which I already do),
  2. Read some bible passages (following this plan from piercedhands.com)
  3. A rosary decade (eventually I’d like to move to a full rosary, but I’ve never had a strong devotion to it committing to a full rosary seems so daunting).
  4. Morning offering & Evening prayer.

So, that’s that. I’ll (hopefully) keep the blog updated with my progress. But my blogging track record is terrible, so, I’ll try.
